I completed the second draft of the script today! The first draft I wrote was based completely off of my outline. I just wanted to put the original vision on paper. I printed it out, and with through with a pencil and highlighter and started making changes. Sometimes things as little dialogue nuances, or as much as adding entire scenes. In any case, the script is now sitting 82 pages, and I haven’t even added the details for the action pieces yet. Right now it just says “Epic Fight”, or “Car Chase”. Speaking of which, I wrote in a car chase at the end, seeing that it’s possible that we might have a $2 million budget. The one issue I’ve had with the revision is a Celtx issue. Celtx is an open source scriptwriting program available for Linux, PC, and Mac. In their latest version, 2.7, they included a revision mode. I think however that there’s some bugs that need to be worked out of that new feature. I tried using it and it started screwing up my script.
I have another production meeting tomorrow and hopefully Trex and I will get to read through the entire script and make sure the story makes sense.
Also, forgot to mention, my lead actor, Alex Bonds, had his first training session for the film on Sunday. He did well, especially considering it’s been six months since he trained.
